Hey man, remember when...

Nostalgia is the cancer of tomorrow,

strangulating our spontaneity.
Cementing the fact,
that,
whilst all we do is look back in awe
and sorrow,
at the wild days gone by,

new tales will never be told,
our lives will no longer be lived.
I was there all those years ago.
Play me a chord i haven't heard,
sing me a song you've never sung.
Show me what you learnt TODAY,
or i set sail for Mars tomorrow.

  1. Nostalgia is the cancer of tomorrow - love it, it’s weird because I’ve always thought of nostalgia in a very nostalgic looking through rose tinted glasses pink hued way, so never thought of it as a cancer, superb! I wonder if they’ll ever come up with a cure for nostalgia...

The last line I like very much, and also the parts before about playing the new chords, and singing the new songs, sailing to Mars – hats off – in reality headphones off – and then back on again.
